Volunteer management, volunteer recruitment and more ideas on volunteer recognition

Hi All

In volunteer management you may not yet have considered the power of the group including your volunteers in different ways.

A quick story…

Last week Melanie contacted me. She represented a number of volunteer groups in her local area that meet regularly. Melanie wanted to purchase a bulk order (10 sets) of the two books on volunteer recruitment, retention and volunteer recognition.

She explained that although the budget was tight. Her organization would purchase the books. With the current special discount price and a further bulk discount – then each group could get the books from her at an even better price than individually.

THE POWER OF VOLUNTEERS, GROUPS AND NUMBERS

Melanie and the group’s smart thinking brings up some really interesting ideas about the power of the group and numbers.

How could the power of numbers be used to gain bulk discounts for your volunteers?

What could be obtained when a group of non-profit organizations (large and small) combined their purchasing power?

If you are not already doing this, begin to think about the power of numbers and the power of your group in this way.

Volunteer recognition a great idea for volunteer management in using quotes

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Great volunteer management, volunteer recognition and volunteer recruitment quick tips for you!

Hi All,

Here’s how Linnea has added to a great idea on using quotes for volunteer recognition and smart marketing and publicity…

Thanks Linnea for sharing this!
volunteerstogether
Dear Dr. Esmond,

The quote theme was used at our last recognition luncheon, and each of us told why we chose those quotes. My favorites are Mother Theresa’s “We all cannot do great things, but we can do small things with great love”, and Ghandi’s “Be the change you want to see in the world”.

On our bulletin board in our office lobby, we have all of our volunteers’ pictures with their quotes beside them, for all to see, and be reminded of the volunteers’ importance in our patients’ lives.

Great Idea!

Regards, Linnea
