Volunteer Management and a Riddle for You

Volunteer management, volunteer recruitment and volunteer recognition ideas…

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who has already enrolled for the Biggest Challenges Workshops. If you haven’t enrolled yet, you can read more down below.

There are two separate workshops of which the first workshop for all those working in organizations.

The second and afternoon workshop on the same day, is specifically for those involved in the areas of volunteer management, volunteer recruitment and volunteer recognition. Now here is a reminder and a riddle for you.

FIRST THE REMINDER

Last week I talked about social media and the need to define your goals when using it. I also talked about directing people from your social media sites to a specific page on your website not just your homepage.

WHAT PAGE TO LINK TO?

Such a page could be a specific sign-up page where people could find out more information and fill in a form to express their interest in becoming a volunteer, customer, client, member, etc. Remember, the more people have to wander around trying to find specific information on your site, then the less likely they are to stay on your site.

SECOND THE RIDDLE AND THE SIGN-UP FORM

Now here is the riddle…what decreases when you increase it?

The answer is this…

The more questions you make people fill in on a sign-up form the less people will complete the form. The most important information you need is their email address and maybe first name. You can then make contact with them via email and find out all the other answers you need later.

HAVE A LOOK AT YOUR SIGN-UP FORM

So have a look at your signup form! As you increase the number of questions, you will decrease the number of people signing up!
