Hi Everyone,
Here’s another quick, simple but very effective Productivity Idea…
DASHING OUT AND LEAVING WHAT YOU NEED BEHIND
Do you find that you are dashing off to work, or meetings or appointments and often leaving something you need behind? Well you are not alone and it is not to do with your memory and being forgetful.
SIMPLE BUT LET’S CHECK IT
Here’s a simple idea that will solve this for you. Use a CHECKLIST. Write up a checklist of everything you need to take with you to work. Or write a checklist of everything you need to take to meetings or appointments. Keep this checklist near the exit and before you leave ‘check the checklist’ so you have everything you absolutely need.
OUT OF YOUR MIND AND YOU HAVE IT ALL
You can reduce your stress by getting it out of your mind and trying to remember. When you make a checklist you are no longer under pressure to remember everything. Also you become much more productive when you can quickly gather what you need every time and never leave anything behind.

That is a great idea! I do it for other things as well: Protocol, Timelines and Check lists for all events and concerts. We have a big fundraiser concert coming up and I have a check list of items every volunteer will need at every post to do their job. I use it from year to year. I also use checklists at home for other things as well: Checklist for going to the beach, checklist for annual backpacking trip, checklist for camping. Why reinvent the wheel every time? Thanks for the emails!
Hi Davia,
Excellent stuff! Although checklists may take time to prepare. The amount of time they save you and others is an enormous productivity bonus. Not to mention the fact that you no longer leave things behind.
Keep checking those checklists.

Hi Judy
Enjoying reading your articles. Just wondered if you have anything on “Keeping my Office tidy?”
My staff keeps telling me my office is untidy and I agree, so need to do something about it – and to keep it tidy.
Thanks

Good morning:
I just so enjoy everything you email to me, what a gem you are to all of us in the Volunteer Administration field. It is always nice to have some quiet time in the morning if you can, I know it is hard. I thank God for all he has given me and done for me and I try to do a devotional to get my day going right. It seems to help because if I do not, it seems the day does not flow well.
Take good care and thank you again for your wisdom of words and thoughts.
Sincerely yours,
Alicia Armstrong, Volunteer Coordinator
