Volunteer management, volunteer recognition and more ideas on volunteer recruitment for you…

Hi Everyone,

Here’s a quick tip for you now on…

VOLUNTEER RETENTION

How do you retain volunteers longer? After all, volunteer retention is just as important as volunteer recruitment. One way is to give them a break. Paid staff have holidays what about your volunteers? Actually giving your volunteers an annual break can increase the length of time they are retained. But it can also make your volunteer recruitment efforts even more successful.

THE TEMP VOLUNTEER

So have you thought of designing a volunteer ‘temp’ system to regenerate those tired volunteers.

Have a back-up team of temporary volunteers who only need to come in every so often to relieve your current volunteers. This is a great way of ensuring they take some annual leave – just as paid staff do – to recharge the batteries.

One idea from 501 in the book – Count On Me! 501 Ideas on Retaining, Recognizing and Rewarding Volunteers
