SUCCESSFUL VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION
The fifth ‘must do’ component to make your volunteer recognition and appreciation program truly successful.
KEY MUST DO NUMBER 5 – BE CONTINUOUS AND FREQUENT
Fifthly, be continuous and frequent in your recognition. Understand that recognition is never a once-off event – it is an ongoing process. Each and every day, find someone doing something well and acknowledge them.
Praise can be short-lived and wear off quickly. Leave it several months before praising again and the volunteer’s perception will become one of not being appreciated. Find ways to provide frequent and continuous volunteer recognition and appreciation to your volunteers.
