The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.

7 Eye-Catching Headlines in

Volunteer Recruitment

In a previous volunteer management newsletter I've spoken about the headline being the MOST important part of your volunteer recruitment material and the 8 main types of headlines to use in recruiting volunteers.

At my recent national workshop tour, participants involved in volunteer management around the country explored and created a range of headlines to attract your attention to read their volunteer recruitment message. Many participants have now incorporated these headlines in their own volunteer recruitment material so please don't copy them, but here are a few to get you thinking and looking at the headlines used in your own volunteer recruiting flyers, brochures and other written material.

Remember, as I've said before - the overwhelming purpose of a headline is to catch people's attention. It is not to tell your whole story. It is not to convince people to volunteer and does not even need to have the word 'volunteering' in the headline at all. It is to get people's attention to read on to your next paragraph, and then your next paragraph and hopefully the whole volunteer recruitment brochure or flyer.

See if any of these headlines would get your attention...
